Creating a domain for your project is the first step to take! Choosing the TLD based on the project is no longer as strict as it was in the early days, but it is always advisable to keep it in mind. So, if we were to build a commercial site, a .com would be perfect; if the site operates in Italy you should add an .it, and since we are in Europe I would round it off with an .eu. This is the general principle for adopting your domain name.
Clearly, your domain name must be focused on what your project offers visitors, but much more important is the "meaning" of that name. So a clear name that identifies an action, a work, or that describes your project well is a good starting point!
